A practice for personal and planetary well-being

The term “forest bathing” was coined from the Japanese term of “shinrin-yoku” which translates to “forest bath.” This term came out of research conducted in the 1980’s in Japan when the health of people began to deteriorate as there was a shift to working indoor jobs where more time was spent in front of computer screens than in nature. Studies began at that time to research the health benefits of being among trees and in nature. Since the 1980’s research has consistently shown that spending time in nature has a positive impact on our overall health and well-being.

Forest bathing is a form of eco-therapy. Throughout this experience, the forest is the therapist and your certified forest therapy guides opens the door for you to connect with and experience the restorative power of nature.
